The Meaning

Flowers and medicine featured:  tulip, wild rose, ladies mantle, holly, corn, bufo alvarius

This is the card of Love;  Love in its highest form.  There is a balance achieved within this card as one learns the art of giving as well as receiving.  You  come to meet and integrate the inner other half. This means becoming aware of the inner feminine as well as masculine energies.  We may identify with our womanhood, for instance, without ever really being aware or getting to know the masculine within that is there to offer safety and strength.  In that case this woman might rely upon outer masculine forces to create her sense of safety and support.  Within this cards experience she will meet with her inner man and develop the qualities she needs so  she no longer must rely on anyone outside herself.  That is freedom!  This is the inner alchemy that is manifesting in this card.  The inner man and the inner woman can rise up in balance together and become mirrors for each other; one giving support, the other receiving.  When these energies are balanced there is a wholeness of being that is deeply felt and an inner sovereignty emerges.  Imagine relying upon your own inner self to take care of your needs.  This frees the outer partner and instead of needing we move into enjoying and truly loving.

When both partners come into union with these inner qualities balanced the result is something divine and harmonious.  Union of this quality opens up a portal to Love itself and Grace is the offspring.  Call this into being by going within to meet your full self.

The Plant Medicine

Plants chosen for their ability to open the heart, restore trust, and activate the creative life force.

  1. Maize
    Zea mays
Corn essence is the embodied life-force.  Corn not only sustains us but it allows us to thrive!   We thrive when love is present.  That's what life is all about and it's as simple; in any situation ask how can I give love/ how can I receive love right now?  Allow life to love you, it's what it wants to do.
  2. Bufo Alvarius
Bufo alvarias is an entheogenic medicine used for its profound heart opening characteristic. The medicine comes from a small toad in the Sonora Desert. It allows for ego dissolution that reveals the oneness of the All.  It is a medicine truly beyond words.  When you are gifted its presence you will see the face of Love, the face of God.  Its as if you had journeyed to the Sun and all existential anxiety is burned away as you are held in the piercing -loving light of creator spirit and at the same time know you are part of it. You merge with Love, which is You.
  3. Ladies Mantle
    Alchemilla vulgaris
Ladies mantle is a flower that physically and energetically holds water (water being the element of emotion).  We take this so we can expand to hold our emotions and know that we can handle them as they surface, whatever comes up.
  4. Wild Rose
    Rosa canina
The Bach flower that restores enthusiasm and engaged participation in love. Rekindles the willingness to show up fully for connection — choosing love not out of need but out of joy.
  5. Holly
    Ilex aquifolium
Holly flower essence opens the heart, dispels paranoia and helps you feel safe in the world, trusting it is a benevolent Universe. She also transmutes suspicion into vibrant love allowing you to be receptive to the gifts that want to reach you.
  6. Tulip
    Tulipa gesneriana
Tulip is for opening to love that is new and unique.  It is a container for the divine and so when we take this essence we become more able to be a container for love.  We accept love without any impediment.
