King of Cups

All Kings belong to the element of air, so this king is part air and part water.  Kings represent mastery, leadership and responsibility while cups represent the emotions, the intuition and creative imagination.  So from this blending we see that this king is a master of his emotions.  He is the king that is most connected to intuition.  HIs natural ability is to sense things on a deep level but to be grounded enough to stay emotionally stable-not allowing his emotions to control his actions.  He is empathic and sensitive but also wise and grounded.  In a sense he has risen above the control of his emotions and can give love freely to others.  He is open, trusting and willing to be seen.  He is unguarded for he holds love in his heart’ the only protection he needs.  His gift is to offer others his emotional support and compassion.

On one hand he has risen above the turbulent sea of emotions and can offer to others a love that transcends the ego- a beautiful thing of course- but on the other hand he has also created a structure that he lives within that does not allow him to be connected to his playfulness and imagination.  There is a balance to be found here.
